Still Time to Register for CHIG-sponsored Preconference, “Historiography as Intervention”

With ICA fast approaching, a reminder that it’s not too late to register for the CHIG pre-conference, “Historiography as Intervention,” to be hosted on Thursday, May 24 from 8:30AM until 5:30PM. The pre-conference will bring together scholars working at the intersection of the disciplines of communication and history to discuss the meanings, fault lines, and politics of our historical work. The full schedule is now online. The event will include:

• Keynote address by Anna Everett, Professor of Film and Media Studies, University of California at Santa Barbara
• Invited Scholars Panel, “What Counts as Communication History?,” featuring David Serlin (University of California – San Diego), Norma Coates (University of Western Ontario), and Christian Schwarzenegger (Institute for Media and Educational Technology, Augsburg University)
• Interactive Korsakow System documentary by Mary Elizabeth Luka
• Presentations from South Africa, Israel, Mexico, Canada, and the United States on recovered histories, critical practice, policy engagements, and interdisciplinarity
